A Journey to Unknown

Nepal: A Land of Spirituality and Exploration

Nepal, a land steeped in spiritual traditions founded on Hinduism, Buddhism, and Tantra, offers more than just a physical and visual journey. Here, amidst the towering mountains, rushing rivers, verdant forests, and unexplored landscapes, lies a path to spiritual awakening. Nature is revered as a divine entity, and traditional farming practices connect the people to their roots.

Mad honey hunting is a time-honored tradition practiced by the Gurung community across various regions of Nepal. These courageous individuals risk their lives to harvest honeycombs from breathtaking cliffs. Using a technique passed down through generations, they ascend heights of up to 300 meters with the aid of bamboo ladders.

Mad honey, known locally as “pagal मह” (literal translation: “crazy honey“), is prized for its unique properties. Traditionally used by Nepali communities for medicinal and recreational purposes, mad honey is also referred to as hallucinogenic or psychedelic honey. Sourced from the nectar of wild rhododendron flowers, it offers a unique taste alongside its effects.
